Imber Court’s gym is dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness goals. We have two experienced fitness professionals who are listed on Registry of Exercise Professionals (REPS). They both have a great depth of knowledge that they can tap into when designing your individual fitness program tailored to your requirements. We won’t just leave you there to get on with it we will continue to access you on regular intervals throughout the year making sure you are still on track to succeed. However, if you feel you need an extra push or motivation then both our instructors are qualified personal trainers and will be happy to assist you with your training.

Imber Court gym has a good mix of cardio and resistance machines plus a free weights area and stretching area.

Opening Times: Monday to Friday 7am till 9.30pm

Weekends 8am till 8pm

Trainers Induction Process Classes Courses


Calum - is very passionate about helping others develop and achieve their fitness goals; which may be general fitness or sport specific. He is always approachable and willing to help members with adding variety into their training by applying a positive and challenging method of training to bring about positive results on the gym floor.

Calum is qualified to a level 3 personal trainer and registered on REPS with a number of years’ experience. He uses a lot of mobility and strength based exercises when training others, which he feels has a very positive effect on working towards people's goals.


has worked for Imber Court Gym for the past twelve years and is qualified to NVQ Level 4 as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.

As well as looking after Gym Members, Lee has worked closely with a Physiotherapist and has gained valuable experience in rehabilitating clients with corrective exercises following work or sports related injuries and specialises in back pain management.

Lee enjoys helping clients to improve their wellbeing and fitness levels and in seeing them achieve their goals.

Our induction process

To get you started we recommend three initial induction sessions.

1st Induction – this will involve a consultation with your instructor to discuss your fitness goals. You will be taken into the gym and an individual cardio vascular programme will be written for you based on your ability and aspirations. The instructor will also teach you how to warm up and cool down at the end of each session and tell you which muscles you have worked and what stretches to perform.

2nd Induction – for your second induction your instructor will recap your warm up with you and then stretches. Once this step has been completed, a resistance programme will be written for you. This may include weight machines, free weights, fitness balls or fitness bands.

The instructors will demonstrate technique and advise on sets, reps and weights. Once you have gone through and completed your resistance workout, your instructor will repeat the cool down and stretches with you.

3rd Induction - in this session, you can go through your programme with your instructor on hand to give you any help you may need or answer any questions.

Once these three inductions are completed, it is normally recommended that you have a review of your programme within 4 to 6 weeks.

We want you to continue progress and reach the goals that you have set for yourself and that is why you can have as many reviews with an instructor as you need throughout your time as a member of the gym and all of this is included in your membership.

Yoseikan Budo

Founded in 1970, Yoseikan Budo is a modern mix of martial arts drawing from rich variety of traditional Japanese martial arts including Karate,Judo, Jiu-jutsu, Aikido, Kobudo, Kendo as well as Boxing and French Kick Boxing.

Training in Yoseikan combines

Striking (punching and kicking) Grappling (throws locks and ground work) Weapons (knives swords and sticks)

Training in Yoseikan improves:

fitness confidence concentration balance speed power co-ordination

Helping the development of a well balanced body.
